I have a 2003 Honda Pilot with 123,000 miles, never had any trouble with it ever. I occasionally pull a trailer and would like to know if there is any way to increase the power of the engine and to firm up the suspension some.

Hi,

You can add simple bolt on's to the engine to get a little more power like a cold air intake, header, ECU reflash but honestly I'd recommend not increasing the power output of that engine only because the transmissions in Pilots aren't the most reliable in the Honda line and any increase it power will shorten transmission life.

As far as the suspension goes you can get adjustable shruts or aftermarket struts that will firm it up a little. There are too many options to list here but a google search will give you results you need.

The cold air intake is good for about 8-10 hp. I like AEM brand intakes myself. I'd check with this company, www.hondata.com for the computer. They reprogram ECU's for Hondas and can really bring out the power out of the engines with custom programs. I've heard stories of 30+ hp out of a reflash.

The weak point is in the clutch packs especially the 3rd clutch pack.
