2004 Honda Pilot - While driving the "D" (drive)

2004 Honda Pilot - While driving the "D" (drive) light starts blinking & doesn't stop even after switch to "P" (park). Only turns off when we turn the ignition off & then on again. This has happened a few times. What is the problem? Is it serious? How can it be fixed?
