I have a 2001 honda passport, 6 cylinder, standard shift. My air conditioner only blows cold when the car is moving, but once I stop and idle the air blows warm. Can you point me in the right direction? Also when shifting it is very difficult to shift in any gear to another gear about 70 % of the time. I recently tried adding coolant but the gauge read in the yellow which indicated a warning and said the system may be overcharged, and recommended seeking professional help.

Hello Customer (name blocked for privacy), if the a/c does not blow cold when you are at a stop then chances are that you engine fan clutch is going bad. If it is not moving enough air through the radiator then the a/c will not cool. As for the shifting, you may need a clutch. How many miles are on the vehicle? When you are talking about coolant and overcharging are you talking about the radiator or the battery?

Yes there is lots of air blowing from behind the fan as I am standing in front of the car putting my hand towards the windshield over the front of the engine. Would a clutch be going out at 65000 miles?
