I have 2005 Honda Element. I installed original Honda Element alarm on the car. It was working fine for two years until a week ago. When I try to lock the car and set the alarm, the car locks, but when I press the lock button again the alarm does not activate. (I can hear the locking mechanism locking the car again, but the alarm does not go on - no horn, no lights flash, no red light inside the car blinking). When I unplug the security module, the car locks and when pressed the second time, the horn sounds and the lights flash. I think the problem started when I opened the tail gate, which I hardly ever use. I tried to "fool" the car by opening all the doors, flipping the door's locking mechanisms with a screwdriver to make the car think all doors are shut - and it would lock, but not set the alarm.
I would appreciate if you could let me know what you think the problem is, to help me with troubleshooting.
