I have a 1994 Honda del sol -SI- v tech standard ...

I have a 1994 Honda del sol -SI- v tech standard transmission- While driving approx 35 miles per hour- the engine stopped all of a sudden. Upon inspecting we removed the upper timing belt cover to discover a loose timing belt, and believe that that is the cause of our problem. #1.However, we have not totally taken it apart, Is it possible that a valve(s) has been bent, and how would we know if any valves have been bent?. #2 In replacing the timing belt, what is the easiest way to find 'top dead center ', for proper camshaft and crankshaft alignment?
WE are in Texas and trying to get home to WV. Thanks in advance for your help.
