I got an engine code 1768 on my 2000 Honda Civic SE Automatic. This is what I found online for this code: "Problem in Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve B Circuit". My car makes a loud clunk when going from P to D4 and when driving in D4, the D4 flashes and the D3 light comes on. Revs when I drive in D3 and is fine in D2 and reverse. Transmission fluid is dirty (but is time to replace it anyways) but I don't think its leaking. I know little about cars. I was a block from home when the Engine light came on so I drove it home. Does this code means a solenoid needs to be replaced or is it more serious? Any idea of cost? Do I need to tow to a mechnic or is it safe to drive? I live about half mile from a garage.
