I gave my father my 1997 honda civic dx, 162,000 miles. it was running very well, always took it for its scheduled maintenance.
He had it only 3 weeks and when he was driving about 30 miles per hour, he said it acts as if the clutch is engaged, won't drive the wheels. He thinks its the transaxle. the car is perfect otherwise.
Do you know if there are any recalls on this part of the car. Its manual, so i am told this is a very unlikely occurence. How much to repair? My father wants to do the job himself because he thinks it will be too expensive to service at the dealer. What do you suggest?

Ok it sounds to me like theres an internal problem in the transmission,or the clutch and pressure plate is bad.You can have it just diagnoses for around 80.00 dollars then do the job yourself let me know what it is ill post the procedure on how to do it.
