I am working on a 2007 Honda Fit with an ABS problem.I scanned it an came up with a code 22-11 left front magnetic encoder malfunction. I replaced the left front sensor and still the same problem. What is a magnetic encoder

Welcome to the site.

Has this car had any body work done on it? The ABS encoder is made into the wheel bearing assembly. I have seen body shops replace the bearing and install in backwards and not have the encoder ring facing the ABS sensor. I would check this first. The encoder side of the bearing is brown and needs to be facing in toward the sensor.

Hope that helps. Thanks for your question.

YES IT WAS IN A BODY SHOP AND THE BERRING AND SENSOR was replaced that was the first thing i checked. IT WILL READ THE WHEEL SPEED UP TO ABOUT 35 MPH THEN STOP READING AND RESET THE CODE

Are you using a tester that actually allows you to see individual wheel speeds? You should be able to moniter each wheel speed seperately. That code won't set until you drive it because the vehicle doesn't see a problem with it until the vehicle is moving. Unfortunately, there isn't any easy way to see the back side of the wheel bearing without removing it from the hub which just ruined the bearing so have another one on hand.

Code literally is DTC 22-11: Left-front Magnetic Encoder Malfunction (Pulse Missing). It basically tells you to clear code and test drive. If it recodes, inspect the magnetic encoder on the wheel bearing for damage or cracks. If there is nothing on the encoder ring, replace the wheel bearing. That is the (almost) step by step diagnose of that code from the manual.

Hope that helps.
