My keyless enrty has stopped working. I changed out the battery in the key but it still does not work. What could be causing this. Car is about 4 years old Element

You turn the key on to the start position and hit the unlock button on the remote then turn the ignition off and back on again then hit the button again. You have to do it 3 times then the locks should cycle indicating the system is done.

It will lock and unlock the passenger door but not the drivers door. When I push the lock on the keyless it will not lock the drivers door but it will unlock it?

Ok the door lock actuator is bad on the driver's side. It's just a coincidence that it broke at the same time. For that job you'll need to have it repaired at a shop as it's kind of involved. It should cost too much though to fix. It's the labor to get into the door and take out the latch and disassemble it that costs the most.
