hi,1991 crx dx surges at any speed hot or cold.tack goes up and down and sometimes dies. sometimes it runs fine. what has been done to fix the problem with no luck by a certified honda mechinac.checked timeing,replaced disturbuter,rotor cap,plugs and wires,idial control valve,fuel filter,fuel pump,gas canister,water remover,altnater,battery.he gave up after lots of money spent. thanks

Top of the rad. cap is fine. If the coolant was recently changed or something then I'd make sure the system was bleed as an air pocket can cause your exact problem. I'd also check the wiring from the IACV to the ECU and maybe unplug and plug back in all the connectors to the ECU and see of that changes anything. You may have a loose pin fit there.

Reply to Kyle Northrop's Post: hey,i checked level and filled resovoir.it got me to thinking and i noticed the fan was not comeing on.on closer inspection i found a crack on top of radiator.i ordered a new radiator. i will keep you informed if you wish. thanks darryl

Yeah let me know, a cracked top tank is common.

Reply to Kyle Northrop's Post: thanks i am pretty sure problem solved.when is the fan supposed to come on? i ran it for about 10 miles at 95 degrees out side and it did not come on.the car was below half way on gauge.i am sending you a little more money also. ps. i also replaced fan switch and bleed the system
