Have you checked the spark plugs at all? If they get too worn the spark can't jump the gap and you'll get random misfires.

Okay start the engine and one by one pull the spark plug wire and see if the engine responds by misfiring. When you find the problem cylinders the engine won't respond. Write down the cyl. number and post it here.
